A third set,10 point tiebreak can be played in lieu of a third set, only if agreed in writing before the match starts. All games in the 10-15 Ladder will be played without deuces (40-40, next point wins). In the 16-18 Ladder all games will be played with deuces (40-40, margin of two points after). If opponents split sets a third set 10 point tiebreak could be played in lieu of a whole third set, but players have to agree on this in writing whenever the match was setup!
- Prizes:
1st Place Ladder Competition - $500
2nd Place Ladder Competition - $250
3rd Place Ladder Competition - $100 - Scholarships:
Scholarships of $500 & above could be awarded depending upon how many participating players we have in each season. - Home court advantage
In situation where both players can't agree on where to play the match the higher ranked player at the time of the challenge has the advantage to pick the court location for the match. - All communications with regards to scheduling challenge matches have to be in writing (via email message). This will make it easier for TennisCare administrators to determine who wins a challenge in cases of conflicts.
- Balls and courts:
The challenged player must always bring a new can of balls and is responsible to reserve the court for the match. All players have to be on the court 15 minutes prior to the agreed upon match start time. Courts must have restrooms available for players to use. Parents have to be present during the match and have to stand outside of the court. Parents are not allowed to intervene in any way with the match play, except when assisting injured players or escorting their juniors to restrooms. - In the event of inclement weather conditions after the match has started (and the match cannot be finished) the play should resume when mutually convenient from the point the players left off. The match should not be reconvened later than the match deadline.
- Players in the age 10-15 ladder can play with orange, green dot or yellow balls. Players in the age 16-18 ladder can only use yellow balls. The challenged player keeps the balls after the match. The younger player decides what type of balls will be used in the age 10-15 age group.
